Our motivation for the Smart Apply System is simple: excessive chemical spraying of orchards and vineyards is costly, resource intensive, and harmful to the environment. The Smart Apply System helps eliminate excess spraying. Unlike traditional spraying that disperses continuous clouds of chemicals across your orchard or vineyard, Smart Apply uses LiDAR (lasers) to deliver the precise amount of spray to individual trees or vines based on size and foliage density. This reduces chemical use up to 73% while supporting optimal yields. Less chemicals translates into less labor required to mix and spray - another savings.

The Smart Apply System automates spraying, reducing reliance on skilled labor. Using the System's software and tablet, growers can pre-program every spray event, including multiple sectors and multiple operators. This eliminates the need for manual calculations - it's all in the Smart Apply System. All the operator has to do is push a button and drive. There is no need to turn the System off at the end of a row, when changing tracts or returning to the shed to refill the sprayer. The System does not spray when no tree or vine is sensed. Additionally, the Smart Apply System will not allow an operator to spray the same row twice or miss a row. Spraying is now simple - even at night.

The Smart Apply System is sold as a kit that is compatible with nearly all new and used air blast sprayers, GUSS Autonomous Sprayers and over-the-row sprayers. Growers can retrofit existing sprayers to get the precision spray capabilities and data collection and analytics of the Smart Apply System or they can add to a new sprayer.

The Smart Apply System collects critical data each time a grower sprays. Growers can forget taking notes on paper. The Smart Apply System automatically captures and aggregates data as it sprays, saving it to the Cloud for future use. It digitally documents date and time of spray, weather conditions, spray volumes delivered to specific trees, vines and sectors, gallons of chemicals per acre, chemical savings, and operator performance. It also does tree counts and and heat density mapping to help predict yields. Smart Apply's data reporting, presented in consistent dashboards, supports grower operations, regulatory compliance related to chemical and water use, export and sustainability reporting.

The Smart Apply System also supports a healthier environment. Sustainable growing practices in orchards and vineyards are increasingly important. The EPA, states, nations, and consumers are requiring practices that reduce the use and impact of chemical spraying. Water use is also a key issue.
